Evandro Reis
Born in Diamantina, in his youth Evandro moved to a city in the southeast of Minas Gerais called Viçosa, to graduate in Agronomy. He then came back and worked for EMATER, a Brazilian agriculture organization. After three years, he started working on his father's farm and also in their construction store.
Meanwhile, he felt attracted by the hotel management business, and considered opening a Guesthouse at Arraial d'Ajuda, Bahia state. Therefore, on the day the store was celebrating its 50th anniversary, he decided to close it and make a transformation and adjustment, changing the place into the Pousada Capistrana.
Since that dramatic change in 2007, he has run the place and also tries to enjoy his free time driving his 4x4 truck on Diamantina's endless and numerous dirt tracks. Evandro has good knowledge about bar and restaurant options in town.

Environmentally, the Pousada Capistrana has nine showers working with propane, plus some light saving sensors and skylights in the hallways.
Concerning social matters, the Gusthouse helps the "Pão de Santo Antônio" Asylum, donating some resources and also signing the association newspaper.
