Flávia and Sérgio

The couple who run Pousada Castelinho are Flávia and Sérgio. Flávia has a degree in business management, and Sergio works with advertising and event management. Together, they decided to invest in the guesthouse, which was abandoned. Today, they have a loyal customer base and also rent the outdoor area for local events. They are always open to new ideas and suggestions.

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:

Pousada Castelinho hires only local employees. The "quitandeira" (women who cook special local dishes, such as bread, cakes and cookies) who prepares the breakfast is also from Diamantina. All the decorative "sempre vivas" are from the "Associação Dos Artesãos Sempre Viva", an association from the community of Galheiros, a rural zone of Diamantina.

They are also concerned about the preservation of Cristal Mountain, especially since they are situated at its foot. They do not advise travellers to make trails and climb it.
